A dream come true

It all started on that day, when I first stepped into the compounds of the primitive looking hospital. The daylight was darkened by the heavy downpour earlier, making the building dim and eerie. Down the hallway towards the human resource office hang a line of photos, presumed to be some important contributors for the hospital. With such backdrop, I was seemingly taken back to my school days

The surroundings and decors had taken me aback as I did not imagine that I am here for a job interview. I was taken to the administrative block, where the HR executive led me up a flight of stairs, of which the backdrop was filled with mosaic tiles of the 60s.

My interview session with the Director of Operations went well. He was quite pleased with my portfolio and my ability to communicate effectively. I was offered the job after the first round of the interview. This triggers excitement and fear in me- excited because I landed on my dream job but fear that I cannot performed. Nevertheless, I still took up the challenge.

Four months passed. Looking back, I was glad to be given the opportunity and pursue my dreams. Everyday is a learning experience; it never fails to overwhelm me on how situations rise from mere nitty gritty issues.

I am finally accustomed to having my office in the hospital wards. The interior of my room is plain and time worn, but comfortable and homely at the same time. Who else would enjoy having a personal washing sink in their office; few but I enjoy such luxury.
